Id Machine

The blog has been a bit dormant but here is a very important piece of news.  We have new id machines.  Michelle spent extensive time on the phone with IT trying to figure out an error.  IF YOU ZOOM IN TOO FAR THE APP WILL CRASH.  So please have the cart as close to the person as possible so you do not have to zoom in too far.  A zoom of 3 or 4 is fine after that it will not work.

Also, if you get a communication error (it is a pretty big 2 paragraph error message)  hit "ok" and then you will get a black background.  Go to "Camera" on the menu bar and select "reconnect"  that should fix the problem.

For dark pictures change the light setting.  In order to change the lighting settings on a picture, you need to follow this path:

Capture – Photograph – Processing Settings (at the bottom). From this screen, you can adjust brightness and contrast.

Jim also told Sue about a different problem. If the camera is unable to take a picture for any reason (too close, camera failure), it opens up another box on the screen. Even though you click to close it, it stays open in the bottom task bar and you are unable to take another photo. To really close it, you need to right click on it and go to close. Most often, I have found it near the left hand side of the task bar near the Windows circle. However, Jim told Sue it usually appears in the right hand side near the clock icon. Sometimes Sue  had to close it in both places. Sue  had to exit out of the program and go back in again to solve the problem.

Also the default on the clinical badges  template is now student, so you no longer have to switch it.

If you have questions you can contact Jim Sprague 694-8471 in technical services.
