Have you had questions about using non-Microsoft Word word processing software? Today, Amy and I had a student that created a document with some open access software and saved his file as an .odf which is open document format. Microsoft Word had trouble opening this file as did Wordpad and Notepad. Luckily, I remember I had ZOHO docs through my Facebook account. You may have seen me post about this on the library's Facebook account. Basically Zoho docs is an open office software that has a Facebook application. You can also use it without Facebook. It is free, just set up an account or log-in with Facebook. You can do word processing, spreadsheets, power point presentations and more just like the Microsoft Office Suite we all know so well.
Please check them out at http://www.zoho.com/ It might be really useful for you to know about and to tell students about.
